Most Capped England Players

Throughout England football history, there have been several players to travel abroad to play. There are currently a few that are still playing somewhere in the league besides in England. Matt Derbyshire who is a former Blackburn now plays for the Olympiakos in Greece. Jermaine Pennant who formerly played for Portsmouth, Liverpool and Birmingham City, now plays in Real Zaragoza in Spain. Of course, most remember David Beckham. This former Manchester United player is now on loan from LA Galaxy playing for AC Milan.

Darius Vassell is a former England International as well as Manchester City star playing, now playing at Ankaragucu in Turkey. It is reported that he had more than three-thousand fans waiting for him when he first arrived in Turkey. Colin Kazim-Richards is a former Sheffield United player, now on loan from Fenerbache in Turkey. Of course, reports that he changed his nationality to Turkey would cause him to not be on the list of Most Capped England Players who are playing abroad. He represents Turkey at the International level since his mother is of Turkish descent, although Kazim-Richards himself was actually born in London, England.

Of course, there are likely many others besides just these stated here that started out in England playing and have traveled abroad to play for other teams and/or in other leagues. Many would wonder why any England football players would travel abroad to play given the sizeable wages that they are paid. England offers the most revered and famous football clubs in the world and they pay their players as such. This may be one reason that many South American players have moved on to the European Leagues. In addition to living a better life, those choosing to travel to and play for England have the wages to live the life of their dreams.
